WellChild receives Personal Protective Equipment delivery

A unique situation

The entire world has been shaken by the global pandemic caused by Covid-19. It has presented all of us with a unique set of challenges we never thought we would have to face.

The most dangerous challenges have been faced by those of us who have had to meet this pandemic head on, often putting their own lives at risk. Among these bold individuals on the front line are the care teams at WellChild, who continue to support families with in-home care as best they can as part of the WellChild COVID-19 Direct Response Service.

WellChild receiving Personal Protective Equipment

How we helped

WellChild was not already a client of ours, they were actually brought to our attention by a member of our team that came across a post from WellChild on social media stating a need for personal protective equipment for their care teams and the families they support.

Obviously, we were more than happy to help, so we reached out to WellChild and our Directors personally ensured that any order requests were made a priority – in fact in light of recent events, everyone at TGC felt it was their duty to make sure WellChild received the items they needed to carry on their crucial work.

Dan Thompson and Lee Hadley, Directors of Top Gear Consumables had this to say – “Being able to source PPE for a charity such as WellChild is an honour and a privilege. We are aware of just how tricky it is to source protective equipment that meets adequate regulations at this time and so we have made sure to prioritise orders coming in from the causes that need it most, such as the NHS, Helping Hands home care services and of course the WellChild charity.

We feel it is particularly important to ensure that charities like WellChild and our National Health Service are protected from any businesses out there that may be profiteering from the current situation and marking up prices to take advantage of the limited availability of certain items.

Top Gear Consumables has always focused on providing those that work with the most vulnerable with personal protective equipment at the best prices possible. We will never mark up our prices to make a quick profit – not even a global pandemic will change that.”
